Hundreds of Laughing Gas Cylinders Discovered in Da Nang

Police in Da Nang have discovered a storage site containing hundreds of laughing gas cylinders and caught a man allegedly transporting the products for sale.

Early on September 8, the Da Nang Police Economic Crime Investigation Division, in coordination with Ngu Hanh Son Ward Police, discovered 36-year-old Nguyen Quynh Anh Phu, a resident of Son Tra Ward, transferring laughing gas cylinders from a truck to an electric vehicle for delivery to customers.

During the inspection, authorities found six laughing gas cylinders inside Phu’s vehicle and another 283 cylinders stored in the truck. In total, police seized 289 cylinders.

According to Phu’s initial statement, he contacted a supplier in northern Vietnam in early September to purchase 480 laughing gas cylinders at VND 750,000 each. The total value of the shipment was approximately VND 360 million, which was reportedly paid in cash.

The cylinders were then transported by truck to Da Nang and stored near the intersection of Nguyen Phan Chanh Street and Vung Trung 1 Street. Phu allegedly kept the cylinders inside the truck and used the location as a storage and distribution point.

When customers placed orders, Phu would collect the cylinders from the truck and personally deliver them. He allegedly sold each cylinder for VND 1.4 million, nearly double the original purchase price.

Authorities are continuing to investigate and clarify the case, Vietnam detective agency #1.
